WHAT WE DO |
|
Progressive Interfaith Action TIA Idaho collaborates with progressive organizations, people of faith and goodwill, and people of conscience to develop and implement a strategy to rebuild the progressive movement and democracy at the local and state level.
We are working with progressive groups across the state to begin the process of developing progressive local coalitions that will place back (or in some areas bring in for the first time) progressives in local government at all levels, developing messages that state more clearly progressive values, and encourage community organizing as the tool to accomplish our goals.
Faith Communities Building Our Future Finding common ground helps people of faith and congregations work together on undoing oppression.
As a continuation of conversations about oppression and hate across Idaho, TIA-Idaho has compiled current materials and developed a program of workshops and interactive presentations that can be used by faith groups in Idaho to practice the role of religion as a healing force around the issue of faith and sexuality.
Interfaith Conversations Brings together clergy, laity and youth to find common ground for working together on social justice issues and to study the effect of fundamentalism upon mainstream faith groups and society.
A statewide interfaith project to bring diverse young people of faith together to: 1) connect more deeply with the parts of their own faith tradition which inspires social action; 2) learn to understand, appreciate, and respect other faith traditions; 3) make a difference in our communities, state, and world through interfaith social action.
The IYA is led by youths aged 15-25 and adult allies representing the diverse faith communities of Idaho.
The Interfaith Religious Leaders Network Comprised of religious leaders from a variety of faith communities meeting monthly to discuss issues of interest and concern. Faith leaders are updated on legislative and social justice issues, write and speak out at rallies and in the news media, and activate their congregants.
InterFaith Forum The Interfaith Religious Leaders Network and TIA-Idaho began In 2004 a project of hosting monthly Faith Forums. These forums include a panel of clergy and interfaith religious leaders and often one expert to discuss issues of prominence in the public debate.
Community Response Networks Provides link human rights groups and people of faith in local communities and around the state to provide positive and healing responses to acts of hate.
