In our January meeting Lou Landry of the Boise Valley Friends Meeting presented us with a document “Minute on Torture”.

This is a statement condemning our country’s use of torture.
He asked if churches, mosques and synagogues in Idaho will sign on to support this proclamation that would be presented to our Federal Representatives and to our State Legislature and the Governor.

Pam Baldwin presented us with the different bills and issues in front of our Legislature this year.

We had a vigorous discussion on what constitutes torture.

We had a particularly enlightening conversation on the use of TASERS within the law enforcement community because of information we were given in Pierce Murphy, Boise Police Department’s Ombudsman’s presentation in December.
