In 2007 TIA began expanding our base state-wide by building a organized network of local groups of people of faith: Democracy Circles: Building Beloved Community. Using popular edurcation and political education, Democracy Circles are the vehicles for TIA Idaho members to begin to understand their own world views and those of others, learn how to voice their own progressive values in a human rights and democracy framework, and learn to analyze media and message frames that are not consistent with their values. TIA members are creating more Democracy Circles within their own houses of worship and strengthening the civic participation and social justice resolve of mainline faiths.
Our objective is to create Democracy Circles in the regions of Idaho where we have members, with a long range goal of having a Democracy Circle in each of Idaho's 44 counties.
