The Interfaith Alliance (TIA) is a 501 [c] [3] non-partisan advocacy organization. Founded in 1994 to challenge the radical religious right, TIA remains committed to promoting the positive and healing role of religion in public life by encouraging civic participation, facilitating community activism, and challenging religious political extremism.
A Message from Our President, Ed Keener
Though not expressly written about the work of The Interfaith Alliance, these words of a political leader describe what we are about, about an alternative vision of our communities, nation and world.
“We need to create a new, clear vision of a world as one. A new, clear vision of people working out their differences peacefully.
A new, clear vision with the teaching of nonviolence, non-violent intervention, and mediation.
A new, clear vision where people can live in harmony within their families, their communities, and within themselves.
A new, clear vision of peaceful coexistence in a world of tolerance.” [Dennis Kucinich, “A Prayer for America”, a speech to the U.S. House of Representatives, March 20, 2002]
The Interfaith Alliance stands for tolerance, nonviolence in problem solving here at home and internationally. TIA brings together diverse groups and individuals who work for civility, even handedness by our government, and fairness for all people who live within our borders.
If you would like to stand with us, become a member of TIA, become active in your community, and join TIA members in our endeavors. |
